15 quotes from great American philosophers

If you love the United States, then you might just appreciate today’s 15 inspirational quotes from some of the great American philosophers.

Your personal philosophy is important.

It’s all about how you choose to view the world and your role in it.

Never underestimate the importance of personal philosophy in terms of how your life will progress.

In our heads, metaphorically, two wolves are fighting each other. One wolf represents all things positive, and the other is all things negative. Which wolf wins will depend on which one you choose to feed most.

Feed the positive, and you’ll enjoy better life experiences.

I’m not an American, but I love American culture and American thinking and positivity. And I’ve learned a lot from reading books by some of the great American philosophers, and you can too.

So let’s start with these inspiring quotes by some American philosophers, which I’ve read in the recent past. These are some great quotes, and they will help you form your own personal philosophy.

25 Picasso quotes that will make you think

Today I thought it would be interesting to explore some Picasso quotes.

Pablo Ruiz Picasso was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. While best known as a painter, he was also a sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, and theatre designer.

Spanish by birth, he spent most of his adult life in France.

Picasso demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a naturalistic manner throughout his childhood and adolescence.

During the first decade of the 20th century, his style changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas, so Picasso’s work is often categorized into periods.

Picasso was a successful man who made his mark on life. And it’s always worth listening to what successful people have to say.

So, dear reader, take a few moments to read these Picasso quotes and reflect on what they all mean.

13 interesting quotes by Mary Tyler Moore

Today I thought it would be interesting to explore some quotes by Mary Tyler Moore.

For anyone who doesn’t remember the late Mary Tyler Moore, she was a big star in American sitcoms in the 1960s and the 1970s.

She is probably best known for her roles on The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961–1966) and The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970–1977), which helped define a new vision of American womanhood and appealed to an audience facing the challenges of everyday existence, as it was for people back in those days.

However, Mary Tyler Moore was not just a successful sitcom actress.

She was a successful businesswoman, producer, and social advocate. She was also an advocate for animal rights, vegetarianism, and Diabetes prevention.

During her career, Mary Tyler Moore won 7 Primetime Emmy Awards and 3 Golden Globe Awards. She was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Ordinary People.

She achieved all of this whilst having to cope with the debilitating condition of Diabetes.

By any measure, she was a smart lady whose ideas are worthy of our attention.

So here are 13 interesting quotes by Mary Tyler Moore to get you thinking today.

17 thought-provoking quotes about war and why it’s truly mad

In this post, I am exploring quotes about war.

Does war ever solve anything? That’s a debatable point, to say the least.

There have been so many wars in my lifetime, and yet what have they solved, really? It seems to me that war never actually resolves anything at all.

War causes bitterness and hatred between people, and these feelings can fester for generations.

For me, war is best summed up by Bertrand Russell’s famous observation:

As far as I can see, war creates more problems than it solves. Often, it creates a vacuum that is then filled by people with truly evil intent.

Ultimately, differences between people require compromise and a political solution. We have to learn to live together and meet others halfway.

Yes, there will be times when we have to be resolute and tough, but fighting should be avoided whenever possible, and it should always be possible.

If I have learned one thing, it is this: if politicians had to go to war and do the fighting and take their own sons and daughters with them, there would be no wars.

The problem we have today is that none of our politicians now have any first-hand experience of the reality of war. None have experienced the horrors of battle. If they had, they would take a very different approach; of that I am sure.

However, let me say this: whether war can be justified or otherwise, we must always respect the warriors.

The warriors do what they do in good faith and at great personal risk to themselves. They act without question and with the intent of protecting us. They do the bidding of politicians. So if anyone is to blame, it’s always the politicians. Let us never forget.

Here are 17 quotes about war to underline today’s message.

21 inspirational quotes about money you’ll enjoy

Today I am exploring inspirational quotes about money.

Now, people may tell you that money’s not important, but after oxygen, few things are more important to sustaining life in the modern age. So we must take good care of our money and use it wisely.

That’s not to say we should be mean or stingy. Quite the contrary; being generous when it’s appropriate is important too.

However, we should not waste money or fritter it away on things we don’t need and will probably never use.

Enjoy your money when you have it, but always put a little away for a rainy day because one day it will rain; of that you can be sure, dear reader.

Build capital over time, and that capital can then generate an income stream for you.

Money can make your life easier, of course, but on its own, it will not make you happy. Never make the mistake of assuming that it will.

Happiness comes from within, and if you’re not happy without money, then having some money is unlikely to improve that situation.

Never chase money for its own sake. The personal cost of being overly acquisitive is likely to be very high indeed.

Make sure you have some balance in your life; then do what you love; do it well, and the money will follow.

And never forget this: money is important, but the people in your life are far more important. You can have all the money in the world, but without people in your life, you have nothing.

Here are 21 inspirational quotes about money to help you reflect on what it really means. Enjoy them all.
