7 inspirational quotes about attitude to make you think

Today, I am exploring inspirational quotes about attitude.

Your attitude matters, dear reader, and it matters a lot.

It’s your attitude, more than any other personal qualities, that dictates how far you will go in life.

A bad attitude will get you nowhere, but a good attitude will take you as far as you want to go.

As a hiring manager, the right attitude is the quality I value above all others.

Someone of average ability with a positive, can-do attitude is far more useful to me than a cynical, wise-ass with a negative, it-can’t-be-done attitude.

For me, your attitude is more important than your past, your education, your appearance or your skill set.

All of those things are important, of course. However, I can work around them if I have to, as long as you have the right attitude.

A bad attitude will do you no favours at all. You might think you’re being clever, but no one else will be impressed. Trust me on that.

The good news is that you can change your attitude at any time you choose. Change your attitude, and you’ll change your life. Don’t believe me? Then try it and see for yourself.

Attitude is everything; it’s that simple.

Here are seven inspirational quotes about attitude that will help you reflect on the importance of this hugely underrated personal quality, dear reader.

  5. There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. That little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative. ~W. Clement Stone
  6. Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude. ~Thomas Jefferson
  7. My general attitude to life is to enjoy every minute of every day. I never do anything with a feeling of, ‘Oh God, I’ve got to do this today.’ ~Richard Branson

7 inspirational quotes about experience

Today I want to explore some quotes about experience.

Education is a fine thing, but nothing beats experience, in my opinion.

There is nothing anyone can tell you that will be more valuable to you than doing it for yourself, getting your fingers burned and learning from the experience.

You’ll forget many things you were taught in a classroom, but you won’t forget your mistakes, mishaps and the experience you got from them.

So don’t worry about making mistakes, for mistakes can be pure gold, provided you don’t repeat them too often.

From mistakes, you’ll get experience, and experience is a valuable and much sought-after commodity.

As a hiring manager, I value people with experience. The more experience you have, the less likely you are to make mistakes while you’re on my payroll. So it’s good business to hire for experience, I think.

However, let me add that I’m not dismissing the value of education. I can tell you now that education is important too, dear reader. Not necessarily a college or university education, but certainly through reading, listening and learning. What you might call self-education.

Learning is an investment in you, and it can pay great dividends.

The higher your level of education, the more you can earn, potentially. Learning is a lifelong process, so don’t forget to keep your knowledge current.

And if you have both experience and knowledge, then you can go as far as your ambition and determination will take you.

Here are seven inspirational quotes about experience to reinforce today’s message.

  1. The only source of knowledge is experience. ~Albert Einstein
  2. Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes. ~Oscar Wilde
  3. Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experience. ~Paulo Coelho
  4. People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built. ~Eleanor Roosevelt
  5. Experience is the teacher of all things. ~Julius Caesar
  6. If you want to know the taste of a pear, you must change the pear by eating it yourself. If you want to know the theory and methods of revolution, you must take part in revolution. All genuine knowledge originates in direct experience. ~Mao Zedong
  7. Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved. ~Helen Keller

5 brilliant quotes and what they all mean

Looking for some brilliant quotes, dead reader? Well, I’ve found five today, which I think are interesting. They all have an underlying message well worth bearing in mind, too.

So here are those quotes, and I’ve included my notes as to what I think they mean. I hope you find them interesting.

Brilliant Quotes
Make Money

Brilliant Quotes:

Quote 1:

It’s better to have a go and get it wrong than not have a go at all.

By making mistakes, we learn valuable lessons. We hone our skills and get better at what we do.

Making mistakes is an important part of life. From those mistakes, we can profit. Whereas doing nothing gets us nowhere. From mistakes, we gain experience, and experience is a valuable commodity.

Quote 2:

MEANING:

You are the captain of your ship. You can steer it to where you want to go or not. It’s up to you.

It takes hard work, determination and a positive mental attitude.

It requires a willingness to rise to challenges and have a go.

You will have to overcome setbacks occasionally, and you must never, ever give up.

You’ll be defined not by what happens to you but by how you respond to what happens to you.

If you don’t succeed in life, it’s not the fault of your parents, it’s not the fault of the Government and it’s not the fault of your employer.

You are responsible for your own life.

You may have had a tough start in life. Life may have dealt you a poor set of cards. You may not have too many formal qualifications. So what?

Plenty of people overcome a difficult early life to become very successful.

So don’t make excuses. If you want success, just go for it.

The choice is yours. Decide where you want to be and then decide how you’re going to get there. Get started now and accept you’ll make a few mistakes along the way.

By doing things, you’ll learn, and gradually you’ll adjust the course of the good ship ‘You’ and set sail for the destination of your dreams.

It can be done, and people do. Why not you? And why not start right now?

Quote 3:

MEANING:

As human beings, we can find change an uncomfortable experience.

One of the most basic human needs is the need to feel secure.

Change makes us feel insecure, and that’s why we can often struggle to accept it. Yet change is inevitable.

Without change, we’d all still be living in caves, surely? We could not have progressed without change.

Change creates opportunity, and that’s why we must embrace change.

It may be uncomfortable, but embracing change can also be thrilling.

If you want your life to improve, then it starts with embracing change.

Change will help you create the future you want and deserve.

So take that tiger for a ride and embrace change. If nothing else, you’ll lead a life worth living.

MEANING:

You don’t have to accept your life as it is.

Ask yourself, “Am I willing to accept life as it is, or am I prepared to improve my life?”

What is it you want?

Decide what you want and then identify the changes you need to make.

Nothing will happen until you decide to change.

However, once you decide you want to change, then great things can happen to you. Nevertheless, you must remember that success will not happen overnight.

Think incremental change rather than revolutionary change. You will not get to where you want to be in one leap.

If you’re trying to eat an elephant, then that can only be done one bite at a time. You cannot swallow it whole, can you?

One bite at a time, and it can be done if you apply yourself to the task and keep going for as long as it takes.

Never be discouraged and never let other people dissuade you from pursuing your dreams. It doesn’t matter whether they believe you can do it. The only thing that matters is that you believe you can do it.

Believe in yourself, and you can become the person you have the potential to be. Why would you not want to achieve your full potential?

Quote 5:

MEANING:

At school, they ask you what you want to be. Most people have no idea, but they pick something anyway in the hope that it might prove to be interesting and fun to do.

That’s where life’s experiment starts.

You try something and see whether it’s the right thing for you.

Then, even if you think it is initially, over time, you might feel the need to move on.

The more you experiment, the more chance you have of finding that sweet spot where you are doing something which you not only enjoy but at which you excel too. That ‘something‘ for which you have a talent.

It’s the Holy Grail in terms of finding your life’s purpose.

If you can find it then all the experimentation is well worthwhile.

If you haven’t found it yet, then, whatever your age, don’t stop looking and experimenting. It’s never too late to find your true vocation.

15 inspirational quotes by Claudius Galen

Today, I am exploring inspirational quotes by Claudius Galen.

I’ve always been a sucker for a good quote, and I have a comprehensive knowledge of the most inspirational and influential philosophers in history, all of whom are worthy of my attention.

Naturally, I thought that I was well-acquainted with the wisdom of the ancients. Well, how wrong could I possibly be?

Not long ago, I was introduced to someone I should have known about but who, for whatever reason, had never quite gotten on my radar screen.

That person was Claudius Galen, and so I just had to go searching for some of his quotes.

In case he’s new to you, too, dear reader, Claudius Galen, also known as Claudius Galenus or Aelius Galenus, is believed to have been born around 131 AD. Known for having a gifted intellect, he was a Greek physician and a writer on medicine and philosophy.

He went to Rome and revived the ideas of Hippocrates and other Greek doctors.

His theories dominated European medicine for well over a millennium.

The Romans had shown little interest in Hippocrates’ work, and it was Galen who pushed it forward in Rome.

That his ideas live on says much about his contribution to philosophical thinking.

So here are today’s quotes: What do you think?

  12. The combination of pictures and words together can be really effective, and I began to realise in my career that unless I wrote my own words, then my message was diluted.
  13. The chief merit of language is clearness, and we know that nothing detracts so much from this as do unfamiliar terms.
  14. He who has two cakes of bread, let him dispose of one of them for some flowers of the narcissus; for bread is the food of the body, and the narcissus is the food of the soul.

7 inspirational quotes about parenting

Today, let’s explore some inspirational quotes about parenting.

Can there possibly be any activity in life that is more important than parenting? I don’t think so.

Yet it is often undervalued in the modern age, or so it seems. Children are the future, so surely they should be our priority?

Far too many people seem to regard parenting as an inconvenience to fit in around careers, lifestyles, and a burning desire for personal fulfilment.

It’s increasingly common to see young children accompanying adults on crowded commuter trains far too early in the morning, as parents rush to deposit them at a nursery or with a childminder before the working day begins.

These little people will be the next generation. They’re the people who will carry the baton forward to build a better tomorrow, so how they’re brought up matters greatly, particularly in those all-important preschool years, which are critical to their development.

7 QUOTES ABOUT PARENTING

Make your children your priority:

Is it such a good idea to leave them with someone who couldn’t possibly have their best interests at heart in the way that every parent should? You can decide for yourself, dear reader, but I must say, I doubt it.

I think that children, once we have them, should always be our priority over everything else.

Their best interests should always take precedence, surely? That’s easier said than done, I know, and inevitably there must be some balance and compromise, of course.

However, there’s no more important job than being a parent, and there’s no greater satisfaction than seeing that little bundle of joy turn into a decent, civilized, and well-adjusted adult.

I have had many fine experiences in my life, but being a parent has been the best of them all.

It hasn’t been easy, and I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way. However, the rewards have been well worth any sacrifices I’ve had to make.

Our children are our legacy:

Let us not forget that our children are the real legacy we give to the world. They’re the gift that will keep on giving if only in terms of their contributions to society throughout their lifetime.

Here are seven inspirational quotes about parenting to help you reflect on the importance of being a parent.

Quotes about parenting:

  1. When you hold your baby in your arms the first time and you think of all the things you can say and do to influence him [or her], it’s a tremendous responsibility. What you do with him [or her] can influence not only him [or her] but everyone he [or she] meets and not for a day or a month or a year but for time and eternity. ~Rose Kennedy
  2. To be a good father and mother requires that the parents defer many of their own needs and desires in favour of the needs of their children. As a consequence of this sacrifice, conscientious parents develop a nobility of character and learn to put into practice the selfless truths taught by the Savior himself. ~James E. Faust
  3. Every word, facial expression, gesture, or action on the part of a parent gives the child some message about self-worth. It is sad that so many parents don’t realize what messages they are sending. ~Virginia Satir
  4. There are times as a parent when you realize that your job is not to be the parent you always imagined you’d be, the parent you always wished you had. Your job is to be the parent your child needs, given the particulars of his or her own life and nature. ~Ayelet Waldman
  5. At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success is the positive involvement of parents. ~Jane D. Hull
  6. Don’t worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you. ~Robert Fulghum
  7. It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men [or women]. ~Frederick Douglass

15 Quotes by Lao Tzu to inspire you today

Today, I am exploring quotes by Lao Tzu.
