7 inspirational quotes about travel

Quotes about travel

Today I offer you some quotes about travel.

Travel can be an education and certainly, it broadens the mind, wouldn’t you agree dear reader?

I have had the privilege of travelling to more than 70 countries. In fact, I’ve been fortunate enough to live and work in some of them. And I can say this; I’m not the same person I was once quite simply because of those experiences.

I see the world differently now. I know from real experience that people are the same wherever you go.

There may be superficial cultural differences of course but deep down people are all just people. We eat; we sleep; we laugh; we cry; we’re happy; we’re sad; we all have dreams; we all have fears; we love our families, even when they drive us mad, and we want the best for our children. And of course we all share feelings of vulnerability at times too.

There are good people in this world and there are not so good people too but most people are honest and decent and they’re just trying to get through life as best they can. Treat them with respect and they’ll reciprocate, or at least that has been my experience.

So travel as often as you can but remember this; there’s a difference between travel and tourism.

Tourism is simply taking in the sights and a little sunshine perhaps.

Travel is a much more enlightening experience. It goes beyond the superficial and it’s about trying to understand people and the reality of life as it is for them.

Here are seven inspirational quotes about travel to get you thinking.
