Travel can be an education, and certainly, it broadens the mind. Wouldn’t you agree, dear reader?

I have had the privilege of travelling to more than 70 countries. In fact, I’ve been fortunate enough to live and work in many of them. And I can say this: I’m not the same person I was once, quite simply because of those experiences.

So travel as often as you can, but remember this: there’s a difference between travel and tourism.

Tourism is simply taking in the sights and a little sunshine, perhaps.

Travel is a much more enlightening experience. It goes beyond the superficial, and it’s about trying to understand people and the reality of life as it is for them.
