What is fear? 6 quotes to put it into perspective

What is fear? Often we can be paralysed by fear and yet it is only the body’s natural mechanism for heightening our sense of awareness in times of potential danger. It sharpens our sense of the risks involved in given situations. By definition risk is simply the possibility of an outcome we really don’t want.

However risk and reward have a direct correlation. No risk; no reward. Yes, by taking a risk, you might end up with an undesirable outcome but equally you might just achieve a desirable prize.

Our sense of fear should make us tread carefully of course but it shouldn’t stop us treading at all. It’s all about weighing up the percentages and taking a sensible approach to any given situation. Avoiding unnecessary risks but taking calculated risks.

If we are to be successful, we must face up to our fear. We must recognise the reason for our fear but that fear should not control us. We should control the fear. We should feel the fear but do it anyway.

Never let fear stop you having a go. The alternative would be to look back with regret at what might have been. And who wants that?

It’s better to be someone who can look themselves in the eye and know they always gave it their best shot regardless of how they were feeling at the time.

Here are 6 quotes to help you put fear into perspective.
