Quote of the Day

Vector illustration of speech bubbles“Beware the barrenness of a busy life.” ~Socrates

We all lead very busy lives; often too busy. We run around focused on our work and have little time for family and friends or for a bit of ‘me’ time. Work can take up so much of our time and it’s easy to become completely absorbed by it. The problem is when you miss out on stuff, you miss out and it’s gone forever. If your child is in the school play and you miss it, you can’t go back and catch it some other time, the opportunity has gone. The years go by all too quickly. Your children will grow up and become independent and then they don’t need you anymore. If you don’t have time for family and friends, eventually they won’t need you anymore either. If you’re not careful you can be left with nothing. When you’re on your deathbed you’re unlikely to wish you’d spent more time in the office but you could well regret not spending more time with your children. Work is important of course but nothing is more important than the people that matter most to you. Wake up and smell the coffee. You need balance to your life if you’re not to have regrets later in life.
