Quote of the Day

Someone said to me recently, “Well, at least you’ve got a life.” The implication being that he felt that he hadn’t. For him life was at best unexciting. My response was, “Everyone has a life. Life is what you make it.” And I believe that to be true. For everyone, life has its ups and downs of course. No one’s life is perfect. We all have problems from time to time. And sometimes people can be genuinely unlucky. However if you are bored with life or lacking in friends, then nothing will change unless you proactively do something about it. Find something that really matters to you. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking and keep trying new things. Get out there and do stuff. Eventually you will find something you enjoy and something you’re good at and something that matters to you. Then you will meet people of like mind. Find people of like mind and you have the basis of friendship. Friendship by definition is a relationship of equals. As Dale Carnegie implied when he made today’s quote, throw yourself into something that really matters to you and you will find happiness. However nothing happens by chance. You have to get out there and make it happen. If you’re not prepared to make some effort and put yourself about a bit then don’t moan about your life. If it is not the life you want then you only have yourself to blame. And remember this; it’s never too late to improve your life. It really can be done, if you are prepared to make the effort.
