Quote of the Day

We can all be selfish and certainly I am as selfish as the next person. We can all be self-indulgent individuals mindful only of own gratification. Well some of the time perhaps. However surely our place on this earth is not just about our own gratification? Human beings are social animals and we exist within communities of people. We do not live in isolation. We are not hermits. Our lives depend on other people and they depend on us too. Our life experiences depend on the people within the communities in which we live. So if we have a purpose in this life surely it must be to contribute in some positive way to the lives of others? Surely we will be remembered for the contribution we make to the lives of others? So ask yourself this question; if I am to make this world a better place, what can I do for the people within my community? Maybe not all of the people but even helping just one or two people will make an enormous difference. There will always be something you can do for other people. Seek it out today and do it to the best of your ability. Helping someone less fortunate than you are is probably one of the most rewarding experiences you can have in life. It is something that will feel truly worthwhile.
